Short Bio
Dikabo Mogopodi holds a PhD in Chemistry and is the President of Aphrike Research, where she fosters collaboration among researchers, funders, and policymakers to strengthen research and innovation in Africa. She also serves as Deputy Secretary General of the Botswana Academy of Science and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Botswana.
Her research focuses on chemical safety, environmental analysis, water and food safety, and food security, with a particular emphasis on indigenous plants. She has led and contributed to multidisciplinary research projects that address national and regional development challenges.
Dikabo is a Fellow of the Africa Science Leadership Programme and the International Science Council, and has held several leadership roles that advance research excellence and inclusion. She has successfully mobilised resources and led capacity-building initiatives for researchers, women in STEM, and early-career scientists across Botswana and the region. A passionate science communicator, she facilitates training in science communication, research leadership, and professional development, while using storytelling and digital media to amplify African research and inspire the next generation of scientists.
